Luxury villas make way for Bali’s first ever Glampsite

One Off Places is thrilled to announce the launch of Glamping Sandat, a cluster of lavish safari tents and cabins in the heart of beautiful Bali.

spacious-interiors pool-setting

Sandat is made up of five safari tents and three ‘Lumbung’ cabins, all of which are eco-friendly, comfortable, highly luxurious, and cleverly blended with their natural surroundings. The interiors are an elegant intermingling of Eastern and Western styles, with unusual pieces of original Balinese art and furniture throughout.

Tabitha Symonds, founder and director of oneoffplaces.co.uk, said of this brand new addition to the portfolio; `think tropical luxury combined with creature comforts and you’ve got the measure of this place.  This is glamorous camping at its very best!`

Each tent can accommodate a family of four and is furnished with wrought iron lamps, crystal chandeliers and cabinets made by local craftsmen.   You might have a round bed, an inlaid wooden bed or a handcrafted bamboo bed – each one is unique. Each tent sits within a private tropical garden, with a 5m x 3m pool which overlooks a forest of coconut palms. All tents and cabins are equipped with air-conditioning, a mini fridge, an iPod dock, an internal phone service and a Wi-Fi connection.

pure-relaxation dining-room

The Sandat Glamping site is located near Ubud, a town in central Bali, and if you want to experience traditional Balinese culture then this is the place to do it. There are temples and historic sites to discover, rice paddies, coconut groves and mountains to explore, and traditional experiences to enjoy.  Bali is a feast for the senses.

Scotland’s Private Islands – have one all to yourself!

If you thought that staying on your own private island would cost the earth, then think again.  Here at One Off Places we have just introduced two charming holiday cottages on the Isle of Scalpay – a small island on a stretch of water between the Applecross Peninsula and the Isle of Skye on Scotland’s west coast.

The island consists of 600 acres of woodland, and a plethora of freshwater lochs and burns.  There is 14 miles of shoreline and open hills rising from the sea.  It is a secluded and tranquil island retreat – the perfect place for experiencing rugged Scotland, with its abundant flora and fauna.

Believe it or not, it does not take you a week to get there either!  Fly or train to Inverness and you will find yourself just two hours from Scalpay.  A week’s holiday here will not feel like enough.  You can go boating and fishing, bird watching, walking, photography and painting.  On your walks you are quite likely to encounter birds of prey, weasels and otters.  In the sea you might be lucky enough to spot whales and dolphins.  Go mackerel fishing, take the boat to Skye and just hunker down in your very own wilderness.

The cottages are both waterfront, are superbly equipped, and have fabulous views.  A fine choice for your next holiday.
