Stormy Castle, Rhossili Bay, Gower Peninsula, Wales (sleeps 14)

Surrounded by six acres of private land, Stormy Castle sits on what might arguably be the most coveted spot in Britain’s first ever designated AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty). Behind you is undulating green countryside and in front of you sweeping views of Rhossili Bay.  A ten minute walk straight along the footpath to Rhossili Bay’s three miles of sandy beach.  Sleeps up to 14 people in six bedrooms.  Go inland a bit and you can go horse riding, visit cultural attractions, play golf at the beautiful Fairwood Park, and learn bushcraft techniques. On the beach you could try kite surfing or kite flying.  Off shore you can go boating or try your hand at kayaking, surfing, or paragliding.

The Quarry, Ilfracombe, Devon (sleeps 13)

This large, luxurious and child friendly, detached Victorian house stand in ½ acre of private, terraced gardens and has exquisite views over Ilfracombe & out to sea. The house backs directly onto the South West coastal path, and has a privately owned beach just a five minute walk away. There are the stunning expanses of golden sand & surf at Woolacombe & Croyde. The tranquility of Exmoor & its picturesque villages, and the dramatic coastline – perfect to explore by boat. Braunton Burrows, a UNESCO world heritage site, is awe inspiring.

Alladale Lodge, Scottish Highlands (sleeps 14)

Spread out over 23,000 acres, Alladale is a truly unique wilderness reserve in the stunning Scottish Highlands. Indoors you’ll find a cinema screen, gym and snooker room.  This lodge is the perfect place to go to enjoy a wide range of activities, from traditional highland recreations to culinary breaks and specialist photography. Country pursuits like deer stalking, trout fishing and clay pigeon shooting aare always popular and you’ll be hard pressed to find a more beautiful setting for sports like hiking, mountain biking and golfing on the nearby championship courses of Royal Dornoch. Alternatively, you can really get to know the reserve by taking a guided 4×4 safari or relax with a spot of local whisky tasting.
