Here at One Off Places we are rather thrilled to have taken on the brand new Cwm Pelved, a stunning 15th century house near Hay on Wye which has just started taking its first guests. It’s a six bedroom house set on a private estate with a fascinating history that dates back as far s the 15th century. Made up of three interconnecting buildings and retaining a wealth of historic features, it has been superbly restored and now offers an exquisite setting for a very memorable holiday.
Peace (except the neighbouring sheep), privacy and escape are the watchwords at Cwm Pelved, as it’s set on a hillside and is accessed by a private drive. The house looks out over the Cabalva Estate and the river Wye, as it winds through the landscape of the Welsh Marches. Inside the house there’s a superb array of living space, with bedrooms at either end of the house making it the perfect spot for two or more families holidaying together. Complete with double height rooms and glass walkways, it offers dramatic views over the Wye Valley from many of the rooms.
Out and about, there are heaps of local activities on offer – hill walking (you’re on the doorstep of Offa’s Dyke), horse riding, canoeing, cycling, and exploring the charming town of Hay on Wye. The owners can arrange you a fishing permit for fishing on the River Wye if you would like.
A stay at Cwm Pelved costs from £1000 for a short break or from £1400 for one week. That’s just £28 per person per night for a three night weekend away with your friends or family.
